In Times of Uncertainty and Collective Anxiety: A Time for You

In a given week, how much time do you take for yourself, doing things purely for your happiness? So often, we plan our days down to the minute and view activities that nourish our very being as luxury items. In a world of doing and infinite demands, there is seldom time left just to enjoy ourselves. With increasing connectivity, multitasking, and the perceived obligation to play many roles at once, it is more vital now than ever to take time for single-minded care of your own self.

An old Zen saying jokes that if you don't have twenty minutes to meditate, you should meditate for an hour. And it’s true. If you feel like you do not have time for something (and that something is important for you, like self-care), you should make it a point to take even more time for that. Because you need it.

Self-care is time spent intentionally restoring your mental, physical, and spiritual condition. For many people, this looks like time in nature, a walk with a friend or curling up to a good book. It is easy to confuse self-care with indulgence - so it is important to ask yourself if you feel refreshed at the end of your activity. A pint of ice cream is a great short-term patch but often doesn’t leave you feeling balanced.

Stress and lack of self-care can contribute to burnout in your professional, social, and family life. It can lead to diminished self-reported quality of interactions with friends and loved ones and a sense of fatigue or fog that follows you through the day. So, don’t let stress overtake you and take time for you! Don’t know where to start? We have just the thing!

We have a variety of services to fit your busy schedule and nurture your body and soul! Take as much as you need. We offer 30-minute Localized Therapies for acute pain or muscle tension in a localized area (think knees and shoulders). Or take a 30-minute Cranial Release Therapy, a great pick me up when stress takes over, and also a good way to treat headaches and overall body inflammation.

If you have 45 minutes in your day, you can take a Water Personal Training class to work on specific workout goals or just enjoy one-on-one support from one of our facilitators. If you have a whole hour, you will want to make an hour appointment to experience our amazing passive aquatic therapies. Our KinAqua Flow® Method will leave you feeling grounded, happy, and renewed. You can also join one of our 16 group exercise classes and become part of our community!

After coming to KinFloat, clients report feeling rested, relaxed and centered, giving them the grace to move through the rest of their busy days with present moment awareness.
